I just purchased this receiver used. I have heard that this Denon 4806 had HDMI board problems. If my board is bad can this Denon receiver still be used for 2 channel and 5.1 without using the HDMI capability. ? Also opinions on 4806 2 channel sound. thanks
Yes I am certain of that. Let your BD player do the lossless audio decoding for movies and send it analog(5.1, 7.1) to the Denon. For stereo music, go digital(Coax RCA, optical/toslink) or just RCA analog from player to Denon.
