I have a terminator 12th edition fed from an Arces streamer via high quality cables. The source is Roon rock running on an Intel NUC.
I noticed random static / crackling sounds occasionally coming from one speaker. I tried everything I could think of to isolate the problem to a specific cable or component without success. I kept track of format / sampling rates NOS on or off etc but there was no correlation. Turing the system off for a while sometimes helped but the noise invariably came back.
I read a post about dimmers and LED lights creating noise on the AC line so I tried turning off the dimmers while listening. Problem solved!!!
I've been listening with a battery powered LED lantern until I can swap the dimmers for switches. Sometimes it's the simple, inexpensive stuff that solves the problem.
If you have dimmers and LED lights try turning them off. Easy to do and it's free.
