@wyoboy It's been interesting and informative. I appreciate all of the comments!
Unfortunately, people searching for information on Roon will have to search for Rune. Lol. I blame my damn autocorrect...
Current quality of Rune
I did some searching and didn't find any recent posts about Roon. I want to try streaming with my new dac which is made to work with Roon.
I'm able to stream with Audivarna which I had used previously. It sounds good, but there is a glitch that causes loud static when switching songs. After lots of Googling, I've failed to come up with a fix.
I'll do the free trial and try Roon, but I wanted to get people's opinion on Roon. I've read that the interface is one of the best. Is it reliable? Good sound quality? I've read that Audivarna sounds better, but those could be old comments.

@sls883 Ha--it's an ancient Germanic version of Roon. Notwithstanding phish's experience and the PITA that is Roon support i still highly recommend it--as long as you don't have a complicated file structure to your library--it's the best interface i've seen (i used to use J River) for organizing music and imparting a near vinyl album cover experience with all fo the information about each artist. If you decide to go with Roon's trial, you should also check out threads on Tidal v Quobuz as those are the two streaming music source services that work with Roon. |
Sorry if this has been said but someone created a "Roon optimization guide" on head-fi. There are a number of helpful suggestions in the thread. @phishhhhh4, Vermont phan here. Maybe our paths will cross at the Garden on NYE! |
