Curious about the BAT vk55se

I had a vk55 (not the se version though) and I thought it was great. The amp I had before it was a 100 watt Acurus.  Eventually I wanted a closed chassis and a bit more power so I switched to Audio Research.  However, when I made the switch, despite enjoying the VT100 mk II that I had just purchased, I couldn’t hemp but to feel that the VK 55 sounded a bit better to my ears.

The SE has something like 5 times the energy storage

So much the better.  I am sure the SE version improves on the original nicely.  Usually the SE upgrade is not as big a difference as going to the next product up in the ranks, but at any rate, you are considering a very fine amp.  What are you using currently?  And with what speakers?
