Core Power Technologies

Does anyone know, is Core Power Technologies still around? I was considering purchasing (2) Ec1200’s but don’t want to be in a holding pattern for the next year. Are they or (Mark) still in existence? What’s the lowdown or suggestion of comparable item.

Ok, I asked a question and I see many replies which i thank you all for. A couple other questions came to mind with Dan's last comment. At one time I had money down on a Deep Core unit. Was there ever such an animal? I know many others had money or there as well. I bailed out when my feet got cold and the bs got knee deep. Mark refunded my money as well. So where was/is the product that was being funded or was that money going into R&D?
Did you guys not get refunded from Mark? If not, what happened to those funds. It's none of my business but I wouldn't tolerate that, but that's me. I hope it works out for you guys.
@Chazzzy007- like ther others, I purchased and EC-1800 from Mark. I received it in a very reasonable amount of time and am very pleased with the results.
I have a Mark Levinson 23.5 which is powered into the EC-1800. I compared between direct to the wall and in to the 1800. I don't notice and reduction in dynamics, soundstage, bass response etc. therefore I opt to remain plugged in to the 1800. Everything seems a little quieter and background seems a bit blacker. Just my 2 cents for what they're worth.
I emailed Mark or who ever Klh007 from ther post above inquiring right after the email was sent. No response, but what else is new
I can't confirm any of the info above but I picked up a couple of 300's last night from Paul and he seems like a pretty good guy.
You know, its time to vent a bit. All through the process of the dream of the “Deep Core”, I too had money paid out to Mark. I spoke with several of you via messaging when I was becoming skeptical of the whole thing. I could never figure out the loyalty and encouraging words every time Mark posted something on this forum which IMO, his words dug him deeper into the land of bs. There is no doubt Mark is a super nice guy and he has nice products. Unfortunately he has health issues as well. Now back to the loyalty part. What was with that? It was almost like a cult lol!! Now i’m reading many of you who were the ones sticking up for Mark are now butt hurt because he has a lot of your money and you have nothing to show for it. How could you not see this coming? Mark promptly refunded my money once I felt this was a plane flying at 50kft with no propulsion. This is just my opinion, but I really think you should have suspected this outcome and I’m surprised you’re so upset. The writing was all over this forums wall.
I picked up (2) 300's from Paul (Marks Grandson) a couple weeks back. Love them!!!
I also have an 1800 that up purchased a year and a half ago. Very sporadically mine will hum, but not much. I also contacted Mark immediately and let him know. I too was promised a replacement unit. I never got it and then we immediately went into the Deep Core saga. Anyway that sucks for you and I hope it works out for you. I purchased a 300 watt unit from Paul after the disaster. Mark assured me this unit would be a perfect for my integrated tube amp. Well, my amp draws 2.9 amps and the unit is capable of 2.5 amps. The circuit breaker keeps tripping. I guess I should’ve researched it a bit more. At this point I’m going to order a larger transformer and breaker. Anyone have any info on the balanced transformer as in mfr??
Thank you uberwaltz for saving me the clarification. As you are correct, it was not me
@tuffy72561

This is a huge help because I was thinking it has to be a use related issue being the fact it’s so sporadic. I’ll have to pay attention to what is being used next time it happens. Odd though that a dedicated line would still give this type of issue. Maybe this is where the Deep Core would come in to play to filter this type of noise out. Thank you much
@ celander and anybody else for that matter. Has anyone opened up one of these units? I did!! In that little black box is a balanced transformer and a breaker. That’s it! No electronics or fancy crap. So if it’s a design issue, maybe that’s why? Thoughts??
Does anyone know where I can get a metal enclosure like the ones Mark used for the Core products? I have been searching the web everywhere with no luck. Thank you
@jackd, thank you for the suggestion. I was on there and it’s not what I’m looking for. Thanks again. Any ither suggestions welcome.
