conventional wisdom on signal splitting

i want to split my zone 2 L/R signals coming out of the pre (lexicon mc8) into both a krell 2250 for listening room and a crown 75 for the patio... these are balanced signals on neutrik xlr's and i would make Y cables to split them out of the pre.

any words to dissuade me? any engineers out there care to illuminate me on the signal degradation nastiness to come? any issue other than having to have my signal up another 4 or 5 dB to compensate?
