Connecting an Audioquest NRG Edison 20 amp outlet

Call me obsessive for stumping up for an Audioquest power outlet.  However I had a great experience replacing my audio outlet with a Cruze Maestro in the past, so I thought I'd try this one after I recently moved into a new house.

Fitting outlets and switches is something that I've done many times with no issues.  On opening the Audioquest  box and starting the project I ran into a technical challenge.  Audioquest provides a silver spade connection for the earth.  You're supposed to crimp the spade to the earth wire, and then attach the spade.

Seems completely OTT and unnecessary to me. I've always simply wrapped the wire around the screw and tightened the screw to hold it in place.  Easy!

The crimping of the spade to the earth wire is beyond my skills, and would involve getting an electrician.  Do you guys think this is really necessary? Or just attach the earth in the usual way?  It's hard to imagine it making any difference to sound quality.
