Connecting a Vandersteen 2w subwoofer w/o preamp

Hi,

We have 2-2ce towers and a Yamaha A3080 AVR setup and just bought 2 -Vandersteen 2W subwoofers but can't figure out how to connect.

Can you connect the subs without having a preamp?

Also, what is the best cable to connect banana plugs to RCAs?

Any help would be appreciated :)

Its real simple in order to take advantage of this unique design you need a pre amp out witch most all AVR receivers have front out is okay but you need also an AMP in if your unit doesn't have one just get an affordable separate power amp. the high pass goes into the amps RCA inputs when set correctly will work properly as designed and you will have an awesome bass transition.
