connect 4 pairs of speakers independant

Hi,

i am currently struggling with the following situation:

- 1 source: media player that streams audio through the sound card
- 1 amp that is connected to the media player
how to
- connect 4 pairs of speakers with a selector, preferably with a remote, in order to switch the plaing pair of speakers accordinglly to room i am in.
do i need:
- a DAC between the media player/pc and the amp

I do not wish to buy a home theater amp. I sounds like an overkill for such a task.

If i have misplaced the discussion topic, I appologize and the admins can move the thread or delete it.

It's quite a nice piece.  You won't find any selector that sounds better.  Too bad there's not a volume control.  Contact me, you will be surprised at what I'm asking!  I might even consider a trade.  emfoods at yahoo.com
It sound like something that would suite my needs and beyound :). I am acutally , sadly, looking for something cheaper.
Still i am very interested in your experience with Niles! I was look at their 4 speaker switch. If i can play simultanously 2 pairs of spekaers i would be satisfied and can get over the lack of remote control. (eventually i can hack the box and add it later).

So, what is your opinion on the RSL-6?

Want one?  Niles RSL-6 with remote.  It was about $800 new.  Mine is working perfectly but collecting dust right now.  I'm reasonable if you are interested.
6 pair of speakers, remote switching or push buttons, impedance matching so you can run any, all or no speakers.  The only drawback is spring connectors for speaker wires.
