Comparison of Two Music Streamer/DACs

Recently, AURALiC released its ALTAIR G1 streamer/DAC at an MSRP of $2,900.  It appears to compete head- on with the LUMIN T2 -- in terms of performance/features (other than the Lumin app, which is a nice feature but unnecessary if one uses Roon) -- but at a whopping $1,600 lower cost.  Has anyone heard the G1 and is capable of commenting on the respective audio performance of each?  In reading the specifications of each, I noted that the T2 uses dual ESS 9028 DAC chips, whereas the G1 uses a single ESS 9038.  I don't know which configuration would be better in terms of a more accurate sonics, but there is a lot more in converting from digital to analog than just the DAC chip.

When they say "dual chips" what they're talking about is a separate DAC chip for each channel. (R and L)

This in theory should translate to better performance. Power transformers and capacitors do make a difference.

The best DACs you can get have an internal master clock module. The legendary TAD DA1000 is extremely accurate and tonally precise due to superior parts and their in-house master clock.

If I were you I'd go for the lower cost option.
