comparative tuner with integrated amp

Good evening, I read an older message sent to an Audiogon memeber regarding the tendency of the Sansui AU 919 to "blow up". I am not that familiar, still, just how these darn things all work, but I have been reading much about the good Sansui TU 919 ( I see a lot of 719's for sale) and wonder, first, how it might compare to my old but seemingly very good Vector Research 7000, and second, if I do find a good TU 919, will it work with my Musical Fidelity A5 without blowing anything up! Good grief, all I want is nice classical music, sans fireworks (except for Handel perhaps). Thank you, Alan in New Rochelle NY
