Coincident 300B Statement Linestage Preamp Experience?

I have a Coincident 101D Statement pre and have really enjoyed it. So much so, I’ve been thinking about moving to the newest 300B version of this pre. But, I can’t find anyone who’s written about their experience with it and am wondering if anyone who’s had some experience would be willing to share. I’ve also heard from one designer that 300B is not a good tube for preamps, which (obviously there’s some conflict of interest here bc that individual sells preamps of his own design) but still makes me want to at least hear from some others before dropping $7k on this new pre.

Thanks All.

I too interested in this as my present Coincident 101D continues to have reliability issues with the Psvane and Linlai tubes, this even after filament voltage mod performed.

Recently purchased Tektron DHT pre, custom build for former Tektron distrubutor in USA, this uses 71A or UX112A tubes. Still in evaluation phase, very nice this far.

Only DHT pre for me going into future, the new Coincident 300B is a contender along with other custom builds from smaller manufacturers. Vinnie Rossi also offers 300B, Thomas Mayer also has DHT with transformer volume control.

Thomas Mayer is the one who said that 300B is not a great tube for preamps (I was inquiring about using the Elrog 300B with the Coincident 300B preamp). With that said, his middle road pre is too rich for my blood (17,500 euros or so). Coincident equipment is costly but extremely high value IMO and I’d love to take the plunge if I could just de-risk the purchase a little. (Coincident doesn’t have a trial period—you buy it, you keep it).
