Classe SSP

Folks,

I don't know if anyone else notice the trend, lately there is a flood of Classe gear on A'gon. Especially SSP-800, don't know what the heck is going on with the brand.

Once highly reputed and sought after, now readily available on used market.  IMO, the delta series has taken a step backwards with Chinese manufacturing and 'ICE' tunnel technology being used in M600 and CA-2300 amps.  I have done A/B comparison, and they don't sound nowhere as good as old Delta amps (no issues with top and mid range but low end is simply flat).

I am just looking for some insight on the brand trend in the used market and ridiculous resale.

As a long time owner of Classe, it's sad to see the current affairs of the brand.

There is nothing wrong with Classe and especially the SSP-800. It is an awesome pre/pro but I bet like many, including me, we are wondering if should try to sell before all the latest formats both audio and video are common stream and it will be more difficult to sell this great processor.

Not sure what blue book is now but I would imagine in a year or so it will continue to drop steady. Now might be the time.

The unit still has the best analog sections of any pre/pro I have heard (Have not demoed the Bryston).

Classe assembled in China has had no impact on quality or reliability. Not one single issue. Not one in four plus years of owning it.

Wonder what the replacement will be like? Maybe next year.
