I should have said: What is the better sounding preamp between the Classe CP-65 and BAT VK-40. I understand Classe gears it's sound reproduction towards tubiness while the BAT VK-40 has been reviewed in Stereophile as sounding "tube-like" As everybody knows one preamp will sometimes outperform another in terms of imaging, soundstaging, dynamics, and overall frequency response. Has anyone actually heard both these preamps and might have an opinion?
