Cincinnati, OH, any audiophiles?

Any Cincinnati, OH -based audiophiles on this forum? I have found only one truly high end dealer here, and they are leaning more and more towards high end home theater so they tend to be quite busye, and no longer set up truly "reference" systems one can listen to for calibration. Would love to get into touch with other fellow maniacs in the area Hard to know what else you "need" unless you can hear it and covet it in someone else's set up!

Wow! I never knew there were that many guys into audio in Cincy. It would be great to have a few get togethers for some informal listening. Like alot of the people who already responded, I deal with Progressive in Columbus. I like the relaxed atmosphere up there and the ability to sit around and play music without any hassle. A great place to hang out. As for my system, it's built around a pair of Quad USA monitors. Hope to hear from yall!
Hi guys,

I wanted to let you know that we have a new source of vinyl in town called "Another Part of the Forest". It's located at 1333 Main St downtown and is open Wed thru Sun noon until 10:00pm. The LP's are used and they have a nice variety of classical repertory items. I think Mike (the owner) said that he has about 500 different opera’s if that’s your thing. There’s also some jazz and pop, but I didn’t take much time looking through those since that’s not my main interest. Enjoy!!

Glad you guys saw the thread about the record store. A hint, look under the bins as there are records everywhere. I saw a copy of the Mercury boxed set of Dorati doing the Tchaikovsky 4 Suites for Orchestra hiding there. While these sound like early works they are not – they were composed between the 4th & 5th symphonies. They don't have the life or death struggle of the symphonies that follow but they are worth having and are nicely recorded. I didn’t check stampers which are critical for Mercury’s. They should be preferably non-vendor RFR’s. If they are either CTRFR or M’s, skip it for a better copy. I also saw the two record set of Dorati doing Tchaikovsky’s first three symphonies. Ditto on stampers on this one.
Hey Tom, I got the message so I guess ti still works. A couple of other guys in town have the Decware EL84 amp and love it.
