Chris Sommovigo has passed away

I just read that Chris passed away on 8/16. It was posted in reference to a new audio show start-up on PTA. I bought various cables from Black Cat Cables/Chris for many years and always received a hand-written note, prompt service, and a great set of cables.

There is a GoFundMe site as the family is left without needed funds for a proper burial.

Wow...I sent to High School with him. Was very proud of the success he had. Shocked that he is gone!

This is very sad and tragic news, indeed.  My sympathies are with his wife and children at this time and I will keep them in my thoughts and prayers.

I sold my Insurance and Financial Services Company in 2017 when I decided to retire after 30 years, and I unfortunately met a lot of families over the years dealing with the same shock and grief that the Sommovigo's Family is facing now.  Fellow forum members, if it's the last thing you do tomorrow, please make sure that in their early stages of grief, the one thing your surviving spouse and children DON'T have to worry about is where they are going to get the funds to pay for your funeral expenses.  This need is even more critical if you are a business owner.  DON'T force your spouse and children into a "fire sale" -- we all know that is not when they are going to get the fair market value of the business.

The Life Insurance industry and underwriting has changed drastically over the past 30 years.  Health conditions that once made a person "uninsurable" now can be fixed or managed properly to the point that I rarely hear about application declinations due to "Uninsurable Medical Condition" anymore -- and Life Insurance rates are lower now than they were 20 years ago.  Again, please don't put additional burdens on your Family at the most tragic time of their lives...especially when it is completely avoidable.

Found out about Chris' passing earlier this week. Very saddened by the news, I will treasure all my Black Cat cables, RIP, we lost a good one.

You young guys get a term policy when you are young and healthy for as long a period as you can.

Wouldn't be surprised you can a million dollar policy for less than 20 buck a month
