Not sure if this helps. But I had an older pair of Grand Veenas (~2008-2009?) and recently purchased a pair of GV from ~2012 with the Sureal Acoustic lens on the drivers. These were supposedly the final version before they dropped the Murata ST and went with the Be tweeter.
The differences I hear are that the newer pair will play louder without strain and have slightly more dynamic range overall.
