CD player question

I took my YBA CD Special in for repair the other day and borrowed an Audio Alchemy DDS III. Its been modified heavily and I know AA is out of business. I was wondering what people thought of the Audio Alchemy DDS III? How does it compare to my YBA? He has another unit I can take home and try a CEC CD 3300.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
