Better yet, don’t lend out any rare or precious LPs to a (presumptive) teenager.
Yeah none of my Mofi or 6 eye stuff will be making that trip.
cartridge for Cart
GFs daughter has a RetroLife TT with some active speakers she got used. She wants to barrow some of my vinyl and I would like to accommodate. I would like to do is get her a new cartridge and at least adjust the pressure. What cartridge would be good on something like that. Cant imagine something like a Sumiko perl would be worth the spend? Maybe like a cheap Grado for $50. I just want to protect my media but would like her to experience an improvement.
The supplied cartridge is tracking around 3.5 gms, I agree, an AT Elliptical, tracking at 2 gm is smarter, however VM95e has only 20db of channel separation, 2.0db channel balance. The existing has 24db separation, and 1.5db channel balance, there is a chance it sounds better, i.e. more impressive than the VM95e. This elliptical one has 27db separation, 1.5db channel balance, also tracks 2.0 gm https://www.audio-technica.com/en-us/cartridges/type/moving-magnet/vm520eb B&H, others sell it for $110.
They sell this protractor, and the other side is blank to set anti-skate .................................... You mentioned Grado, this elliptical tracks at 1.8g and has channel separation of 25db, well worth the $125. IMO Are you able to adjust the arm height? It is based on the height of the supplied AT3600 now.
