I've noticed this long time ago, especially in the headphones.
What you are hearing is known as "print through" or "pre-echo" and is endemic to analog recording. Some of it is in the original tape (hence the name print through) often heard as a full echo of all frequencies, and other sources can be from the way the grooves are cut -- seeThanks for the link, very interesting!
