Car Audio Speakers

I know this rarely if ever pops up on Agon. But I'm in the market for speakers for my car. Anyone have any experience with high quality car audio speaker brands that can rival audiophile speakers? I'm pretty clueless. Most of my experience in car audio comes from those idiots who blast their distorted one note hip hop/rap bass at an intersection on weekend nights.

Thank you for all your informative advice.

I found a local installer who is a dealer for Focal, Dynaudio and German Maestro (founded by members of MB Quart). The latter appears to be even pricier.

"Tube Driver Blue amp"...I didn't realize there are tube amps for car audio!

I ask the installer about Dynamat.
Jedinite, thanks for the Bultleraudio link. I remember their home audio tube amp now. Cool...Tubes in my car. May be the tubes will tame some of the brightness in some of the highend car speakers.

I remember MB Quart speakers from the late 80's and early 90's. They were very clean and transparent speakers.
Thanks for the advice on EQ. I have run flat low profile tires, so I'm guessing these are not the quietest tires around. Oh well.
Sorry, I don't have an option to replace the car. I ordered the car to my specifications through the manufacturers website and production finished today. I'm waiting for delivery. I'm hoping to pick up some hot babes, so a nice audio system in my car couldn't hurt :-)
Linn should be nice indeed. So should the Mark Levinson in Lexus. To bad you couldn't buy these systems for your own car, unless you happen to own these luxury cars.
Focal, Dynaudio, Butler and McIntosh seems to get a lot of recommendations. Thanks.
