Cambridge CXN as a server

I have put all my CDs on  a hard drive and am using a Bryston BDP-2 in my main system to play my files. I have the Bryston plugged into its own dedicated router, which I connect to with a tablet to control the player.  I want to play files in my bedroom system, also from hard drive, and am considering the Cambridge CXN to handle that task, using its internal DAC.  Does anyone have any experience using the CXN as a server?  How is their app for controlling?  Do the tracks on the hard drive display well?  I am not interested, at this time, in streaming from Qobuz, Tidal, etc.  Maybe in the future, but not any time soon.  Thank you for any advice.
