Calculating Wire gauge?

Hello,
I am interested in making interconnects using Two 26 Gauge wires twisted together and soldered to HOT.

What is the effective Gauge of two 26 gauge wires used in the same signal path? (13 gauge?)

Find the the cross section area in this chart for the awg and go up the same column to double the area. (I just found this chart with a quick search, and don't mean to recommend the website.
