Buying Dealer Demos

There are great deals to be had by buying speakers that have been used as dealer demos. The upside is the price, as well as the fact that you get the full warranty and support of your local dealer. The downside is if these speakers are used as the dealers main two-channel demo system, they will get usage in one year equivalent to 3 to 4 years in my home. The speakers I am buying are very high quality speakers, and have been driven by excellent electronics. They also sound great! Should I be concerned about the overall lifespan/performance of these speakers?

as long as they have not been abused do'nt worry. i would be worried about a dvd player that ran everyday or a cd player but not speakers.
Another thought...

You've probably just saved yourself a month of mediocre sound as your dealer has already broken the speakers in!
Kirk930, how do I know if they have been abused or not? If they sound good now, does that mean they're ok? I am also aware that as demos, many people will want to see how loud they can go, etc., resulting in a lot of hard driving. Am I being overly concerned? This dealer seems like a good guy, but I just want to be careful.
It really depends on how old they are when you buy them and if as above was stated the abuse it received from someone playing around with it other than perhaps the dealer. Time not usage is what deters a speakers performance in the way of foam rot and corrosion of parts.
As long as they had quality equipment driving the speakers I dont think you have anything to worry about. My speakers were a display model and not only did I not have to break them in but I saved thousands.
