Building a Subwoofer

Im looking to build pair of subwoofers.
Im thinking of using an upper quality Infinity car sub, building my own box, throwing in a crossover, and im looking for reccommendations for a high power amplifier.

Im looking for a stereo amplifier, 300WPC minimum, or a couple 300w+ monoblocks.

Seeing as how this is a DYI, im also looking to keep the cost down as much as possible. under 1000 for the amplifier, preferable far below 1000

any suggestions on crossovers?

For an amplifier, consider QSC RMX 1450 Pro sound unit...450 watts @ 4ohms. Even the midrange and higher sounds good, and you will only be using it at LF. Put the $600 you save into better drivers.

Rergarding crossover...think about the Audio control Richter Scale LF equalizer/analyser with X/O. Especially with a DIY project you will find the extra capabilities useful.
