There is a fellow called z who did a you tube review on them who said they do not sound good in the nearfield.

There's already a thread on this: https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/bookshelf-speakers-for-near-field-desktop-use But basically, speakers with big waveguides are extremely diffuse sounding nearfield and don't generally sound that great, because the ratio of reflected to direct sound is too high, they are meant more for mid-field. The best near-field speakers are generally coaxial drivers. |
