I've not used the Bryston, but bought a new Magtech to replace my Gamut D200. Driving VSA vr4jr's, th difference was dramatic in some areas. I never knew what the bass of these speakers was like until they had the power reserves of the Magtech. Really like a different speaker. Much more authoritative bass, tighter, just amazed me. Had purchased the amp to drive new Maggies and wanted to see what it would do while awaiting the speakers.
Guess the point I'm making is that the reserves of power WERE apparent, and audible. I'd say give it a shot.
