Bryston 3B THX!?

Hello there,

Can you explain to me the history behind this amp:

I've bought a Bryston 3B THX but I read that STs would come with 120 watts, just like this amp although it isn't an ST but it looks like an ST because older Brystons have an entirely different backplate look and connections / layout?!

Oh but mine doesn't even say ST, that's why I'm asking, but it looks like an ST, weird.
What's a turn on Trigger?
What I also wonder is whether my amp has a turn on protection which protects the speakers, is it possible to get something like this separately?
Thanks so much for the detailed answer my friend, this was very helpful!
Is there sonically a difference between my end of the line 3b nrb thx with 120 watts vs the st model? Are there improvements and if so are they audible?
