Bookshelf speaker fix

This is a problem that us probably unique to me but maybe someone else with bad speaker placement on shelves for example, it might help. I have a book shelf situation wherein stands are not possible.
I have a setup in my shop and my speakers sit on a 2 foot by 8 foot very sturdy shelf about maximum a foot from the back wall. So I sit too low on the speakers. I have tried to compensate by tilting the speakers from the rear with some positive effect. These are Elac Debut 62 by the way, with a Schiit front end. I was getting muddle and the speakers just didn't sing in spite of good equipment fronting them. So I turned the speakers up side down. The teeter on the bottom then was even with my eyes. The bass tightened and improved in tone and character and the High end is really nice. The speakers perform well, disappear and I don't detect any negative room effects. The speakers sit on four decouopler biscuits each about one inch off the deck.. 
Not sure how this will work for some other people. There are some speakers that have the tweeter on the bottom like the Burkhardt 400s and Tekton Mini Lore Monitor (?) Just something to play with along with toe in and supports.
Your mileage may vary and objects in the mirror are larger than they appear.

Retired, Covid Cooped UP, time to mess with hobbies, it's fun to look up equipment, they look like a nice bookshelf design.

I have similar sized 6-1/2 woofers, vintage B&W. I re-did my office so I could sit dead center, and the center image is focused on my monitor, so sound most often originates from the monitor, and imaging is preserved.

I added a self-powered sub, removing the need for the 6-1/2" woofer to try and do low bass, thus making an easier load for the stereo amp and letting the speakers drivers sing without trying to produce low bass.

It's the narrow tweeter frequencies you want aimed down to your ears. I laid mine sideways, the projected height of the 2 drivers similar, and surprisingly found the tweeters on the outside worked best.
