Bookshelf or stand mount help please

Hi everyone.

I am buying my daughter an entry level system and am looking for suggestions on active stand mount speakers in the 1 k range. They will be used with a REL T9 sub. Thank you.

KEF is good. So are Aperion and ATC. I know audio engine but that's much cheaper. I would listen to Klipsch too

@ronboco I should stand corrected. I don't know what they have. I just searched for a few minutes and gave up. If I wanted to hide information and make it confusing, I could not have done a better job. (Not just the ATC web site but overall, what turns up on the web)

I would be happy to sit down with @lonemountain and get a list of speakers and designation and what's in production, out of production, etc. and publish it.

$1000 is in no speaker's land btw, there are entry levels up to $500 and then the rest starts way higher

I bought and gave several speakers to my kids and neighbors for "entry level". To me powered speakers are "endgame". But of course there are so many variables, space, ease of use, convenience, expectations, type of music, source....

Why not a passive speaker, just curious?

got it. My kids don't mind the amp, but I suspect they are so used to it, they can't imagine music without it.
