Blue Light Lasers???

Can anyone illuminate me (please excuse the pun) on the blue light laser technology? What, if any, are the ramifications for high end audio? Thanks!

A shorter wavelength laser can then read smaller pits/lands on an optical disc, allowing for the disc to have more overall data capacity. Higher capacity can then be utilized for higher-resolution audio/video.
