bit stream and multi-bit DACs

I originally asked this on a different forum before I noticed "Tech talk."

I have seen hints of the truth for a long while but only now has the truth of how bad consumer audio devices are finally hit me.

In a related question, does "Digital Filter" architecture on TI's spec sheets indicate a multibit DAC? TI owns Brown-Burr and their DACs are everywhere. It is quite clear that most of their DACs are bitstream.
