I would like to try biamping my Vandy 2C's...I have a pair of identical NAD 2200s to work with...the vandies are biamp capable by removing the external jumpers...seems I have two possibilities for hook-up: 1)use one amp per speaker or 2)use one amp for L/R lows and one for L/R highs...my thought is option 2 is preferrable as it gives the left and right channel of each amp approximately equal duties...what does conventional wisdom say???
I used a pair of Hafler DH-220's in "Option 2" configuration for a couple of years. I preferred the sound to "Option 1" but I've since changed to a single DH-500 and prefer the single high power amp sound.
Hello, I would run them in the vertical bi-amp setup, hookup #1. This is one amp for the left speaker and one amp for the right speaker with one channel for the highs and one channel for the lows. This will give you better stereo seperation like having mono blocks but better.
