i have a nad c370 vertically biamped with the nad c270. what would be the effect of adding bridging mode to this arrangement? is there any clear detriment? or any clear advantage other than the added power?
im using paradigm studio reference v.2's. but i decided after a bit more research that bridging is not going to really add anything positive to biamping, and as you've pointed out, can due more harm than good. thanks for your reply.
I don't know your speaker set up. One of the problems of bridging is that it halves the impedance that the amp sees. If your speakers have a particularly wicked impedance it will cause the amp to overheat, shut down or worse oscillate.
