I know this is an old thread, but in case anyone finds it in the future, I just want to add that I use the neutrik adapters from parts express and they are well-made and a perfect fit with the neutrik connectors that are probably already installed on your xlr cable, at 1/5 the price of the Cardas adapters. I use them only on the preamp end of my MIT Magnum M1 proline interconnects (SET preamp>Class A SS amp) and direct (no adapter) to the balanced inputs on my amp. I hear zero ill effects.
Better XLR/RCA adapters
I know, I know, that's not audiophile way, but I might have to temporarily use them. I heard that Purist Audio is considered the best by some but they are $500 pair, and I don't want to spend $1k on adapters.
So what should I get? Cardas ? Specifically, I would use XLR cables and the current equipment is all RCA.
