Best Vintage tube amp / preamp manufacturer

From the 60’s and 70’s. Macintosh obviously comes to mind. And which models of the brands. There aren’t that many but I am interested to know your thoughts.
I have a bit of a Mac and Fisher collection going on.

A Sansui AU 11 if originally offered as a model in the US will be a very nice Amp.

My main experience is with  CD used as a Source.

The in built Phonostage in use with a SUT, has also raised a few smiles from those who have heard this.

Ralph I have Harman Kardon old preamp citations and the amp.who does refurbish this units?

I need to replace the output transformers of a Fisher X100. Fisher part numbers are T1109-114-1 for left and T1109-114-2 for right. How or why are left and right different? Long ago, I thought the Hammond 1650E was most appropriate but I wasn't sure and didn't order it. It is no longer available. Which Hammond transformer part number did you use and how did you know to pick that one? Would replacing be better than rewinding?

+1 for Harman Kardon. I have a Citation 1 preamp, and it's stunning. I haven't heard the matching Citation 2 power amp but I gather it's just as great. I do use a Dynaco ST-70 power amp and echo what a previous post...best bang for the buck.

Marantz vintage gear looks fantastic and has held value very well, but, the sound , to me anyway, is a bit disappointing.  The same with most McIntosh gear--fantastic looking and decent sounding but the sound is not commensurate with the price of their vintage gear.  I agree with the above that Harmon Kardon stuff is worth hinting down.

More obscure is stuff like the Lafayette KT-600 stereo preamp.   In good working order, this is a killer good piece; it is just not that pretty.
