Best tube preamp for Bryston 3BST

What tube preamp in the $1500 range would sound best with the Bryston 3bst amp?

The combination was nearly as sweet and as big as with my Premier 11A but faster, tighter bass. Of course the PV12 is over $2000 unless found used.
