Shure SE846 are reference IEM to die for. They are comparable in sound quality to the best over ear open back headphones in the world.

Just curious if you have personally used these in ear headphones. I haven’t. I realize you wrote you've "heard", but this could mean hearsay and not personal experience.
I’m genuinely curious because I do foresee the need/want in the future for me to obtain headphones (lets call it that for the moment), but haven’t a clue really as to what design can (technology and objective wise, nothing subjective) truly deliver.
Perhaps I’m just biased with prejudice in this case, but I simply can’t wrap my head around how something so small can sound good at all, let alone "best".
