Best garage speakers

I need two good garage speakers to fill 900 sq ' and to sit against a 30 foot wall. Eyeroll, I know, this is a sophisticated forum but help an old guy . We 4 guys have a few whatevers and listen to good tunes after fishing in northern Mn . I have a Yamaha RX-V992 receiver. Bookshelf or floor speakers are fine. I have room for a sub too..I'll spend up to $400-$500 for a used set on Marketplace or this site. What would you look for to buy

High efficiency horn loaded speakers are used for concert and theater PA systems quite effectively.  They can fill large areas without sounding strained and have great dynamics.

In that price range some slightly scuffed up Klipsch Forte I or II's with 98 dB sensitivity and frequency response down to 32 Hz would be good candidates, but worth trying even if they are priced a bit higher.

Remember, a rather equivalent Forte III retails for over $3000 and are quite popular.

Good luck.
I see millercarbon beat me the Klipsch Heresy, which is a great recommendation, but they would benefit from a subwoofer.  The Forte is basically a larger Heresy for better bass extension with the same midrange and tweeter setup.
