I believe I mentioned my experience using a Luxman m900u with my Magico S5’s earlier in this thread. If you would like more information on my experience please let me know.
Best amplification for Magico S3 newer version on your experience
I purchased a pair of S3 but now I am facing that I might not have the funds for top brands amplification that I see them pairing at shows CH, Solution, D'agostino
Etc.
I come over here looking for advice.
Currently using Luxman 509x. My room is 18x12 and I listen to low to moderate vol.
Thank you in advance.

This is rather difficult as the Magico S3 2023 is highly transparent and can run top electronics. Maybe Constellation Inspiration as mentioned on TAS 50 Greatest Bargains in High-End Audio
2 other great sonic choices:

+1 on Audphile1 brands Do take to heart Bimmerlover’s well described reply, as its spot on. The right synergy is critical for your Magico’s to really shine. So depending on budget an how you room works with the Magico’s, in no particular order Vitus, Gryphon, Coda, CH and Soulution. A tube pre is good too, as with all upstream components. All the best with it! |
A bit of a change of perspective/focus from a senior citizen. 1. Try some MIT Matrix 60 or Oracle level speaker cables between your existing amp(s) and the Magicos, which need a little something different to keep from sounding sterile. $2K-4K. I heard some S5s with even some good Constellation amps - very 'stiff' with no life at all. Absolare sounded great but not sure its enough power for your goals. 2. A couple of more budget friendly beast blasts from the past - Audire Otez, or Musical Fidelity kW500 or 750. Probably $2K-4K 3. Old school Krell FBI or new school Krell KSAi-400 Latter not near $2K-4K. :-D I know.... [most] all budget and a bit dated. As a newer/costlier suggestion, I saw an Audionet Humboldt on Ebay-England (220v though). |
