I currently own a Cary 306/200 one box player. I'm wondering if anyone has used a Bel Canto 3 DAC with the Cary, and observed any appreciable improvements in sound. Love the Cary, also looking at picking up an Esoteric x03 down the road.
I can't really comment on the Cary/Bel Canto question but I will give a full throated endorsement of the Esoteric X-03. I've been running the SE version for just over a year and it is one fine machine.
