Currently have a Peachtree Nova feeding a Bel Canto S300, love how it sounds.
However, I was wondering if it's worth it to get the Bel Canto DAC3. Has anyone heard both the Nova and DAC3? Would it be an upgrade or should I just leave well enough alone?
The DAC3 is wonderful. Used prices are down now with new models/upgrades coming so it's a great value. I think it holds up with any of the upsampling units now.
There are far more expert folks here to respond, but it's my understanding that the Bel Canto DAC would be vastly superior (on paper, anyway) to the Peachtree. I own the closely-related (particularly in regard to the DAC portion) Decco.
Of course, you might still prefer the sound of the Nova - it's such a subjective thing. Maybe you could demo the DAC3 at home and see?
