Bel Canto DAC2 owners' advice please

I have been considering the purchase of a used Bel Canto DAC2 to pair with a Jadis JD3 transport/player (vintage 1997), perhaps other gear as well if opportunity knocks. Is the DAC2 very sensitive to collateral equipment such as digital cables, ic, power cord, isolation? Or, in other words, if I want it to run "full steam", would I have to take into account (large) additional cost? Thanks for any thoughts.

Karelfd - why don't you try jitter rejecting Bel Canto DAC3 or cheaper Benchmark DAC1? It will save you a lot of money for good transport and digital cable or improve performance greatly with the cheap transport and cable.

Jitter is a noise in time domain and eliminating it will make better clarity of the sound.

I use Benchmark DAC1 with $70 DVD player and self made cheap cable with great results. I drive power amp directly since Benchmark has volume Control.

Be careful with used Benchmarks since they went thru many revisions. According to Stereophile review Bel Canto DAC3 sounds a little better but is more expensive (two times).
I have one a DAC 2. I found that the stereovox digital cable sounded best on my system (only tried about 3 different cables) and that was about 3 or 4 years ago. Also, at the time, I found that the cheapest cardas cable sounded better than a Golden Reference on the DAC2. Again, my results were only based on a few tests.

There have been a lot of new (and less expensive) digital and power cables introduced since I first evaluated my DAC2.

Not much of a help, I am afraid....
