I guess I mean't more along the lines of the internal components to the DAC and if they're at risk; and if they were constantly "at work" trying to process rather than being in stand-by (red LED). Nonetheless by your description it sounds like everything okay, and the stable clock explanation does make sense.
Bel Canto Dac2 light always green... is it okay?

I recently put a Monarchy DIP 48/96 Upsampler between by CD player and Bel Canto Dac2 and notice the Upsampler seems to cause the Bel Canto Dac2 to always be locked onto a signal and thus the light is always green in color (and never reverts back to red when there is no audio). Is this going to cause pre-mature failure if left on like this? I'd hate to think I'm killing the life out of this awesome product!
