Beginner question...want good streamer under $1000...

Currently, I get my music from YouTube Music (or Spotify, or Tidal) apps coming from my smart TV via optical cable into a DAC integrated amplifier (Teac AI101DA) and from there, into a set of bookshelf speakers.

It would be nice to stream music without using my TV.

If I were to get a Bluesound Node 2i, could it be controlled from the YouTube Music app from my iPhone?  I know I could go optical out from the Bluesound to optical in on my DAC amp.  How does the Node 2i detect a streaming service like Spotify or YouTube Music?

I'm on a limited budget.  Thanks for your thoughts.

The Node2i or Blusound have their own app you get from the app store for free. It has a lot of services on it you launch from your tablet or phone.
Grab a refurbed node 2i!  The app is great, you can also cast via bluetooth, which also sounds really good.  The dac in the bluesound is pretty decent and you may actually prefer it over the dac in your teac.  Refurbed 2i should be around $400-$450z. Get the 2i, not the 2, as the 2i has a better dac.
