BAT VK -200 vs. McCormack DNA 1 Deluxe?

Currently running a BAT VK-5i preamp and McCormack DNA 0.5 with Magnepan speakers and looking to upgrade my amp. BAT makes sense for the synergy but also impressed with the McCormack so far.

(Background, I want to upgrade my preamp to BAT VK-5i and potentially send DNA for upgrade, but I was told BAT does not work with MacCormack!!). Thanks.

I wonder if it was a current draw issue etc, hence I am asking if you experienced any issues or had to do something special, as I am glad you have the set up working well for you.
