BASIS 2001 OR ARIES

I FORGOT TO DELETE SOME TYPO CHANGES.LAST LINE SHOULD HAVE BEEN DELETED.

I have owned an Aries/JMW 10, and one of my friends owns a Basis/Graham 2.0. I haven't compared the 2 TTs directly but I would also lean toward the Basis/Graham combo. Now I own a Michell Gyro SE and an Origin Live Rega RB250, with a Benz Ruby 2, and I'm very happy. I've used the Rega RB300 modified with Cardas wire on a Townshend TT and always felt it sounded a bit bright in the upper mids and highs. :)

I have the Basis 2001 with the Graham 2.2 and Graham Nightingale. Can't comment on the Ares, but the Basis/Graham combo is incredibly good. You certainly won't be disappointed with this setup.
