Bad idea?


I really don't want to spend over $1000 for a pair of speaker cables especially when I don't need them 8 ft long. Would it be a bad idea to buy just one cable and cut it in half. One side would be bananas with the other side bare wire?

Don’t cut and terminate yourself unless you are experienced.  Rather, audition the following WyWires model:
