B&W Nautilus 802

Anybody know the difference between the series 2 and series 3 version of this speaker? I'm assuming its driver/crossover related, but I don't know for sure. Is the series 3 speaker a better sounding speaker? If so, in what way and is the price difference worth the upgrade?

There is a ten year old 802 series 2 model on ebay. I'm considering putting in a bid. What do you think?

The series 2 & 3 are not in the Nautilus family. You may want to skip both and go with the Nautilus 802. You will be glad you did. I have the N802's haven't been able to compare them to the older series 2&3 but I've been told that they are not even close. Hope this helps.

b&w MATRIX 802 s2 had a tweeter protection circuit. the s3 dropped the somewhat "busy" crossover and apoc and redesigned the tweeter to handle more power. the difference to me was noticeable but not nite and day. "certain people" always manage to play their stereo so loud that their speakers suffer some damage.
