I have not heard either but I have it on my radar screen to get Marantz SA8001 modified by Paul at Tube Research Labs. Apparently the modified 8001 is much better than stock SA11.

Ayone compared Marantz SA8001 and SA11S1 on CD's?

I was just wondering if anyone out there has owned both, or compared, the Marantz SA8001 and the Marantz SA11S1 on redbook CD's?
If so, what were the sonic differences between them?
Is the SA11S1 really worth the extra $2,500.00 over the SA8001 in your personal opinion?
